Myfirsthomeltd. Newsletter
Editor’s Letter The number of people moving house is at its lowest level since records began, but buyers are not complaining. According to Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors UK housing market survey the average numbers of transactions are down, but prospective buyers appear to be showing an interest in the market. Demand continues to be weak, with new buyer enquiries still well into negative territory, but investors are entering the market to take advantage of rising rents and ‘opportunist’ buyers are looking to bargain for reductions in a falling market. The lack of new instructions to sell property continues to provide a layer of support to the market. Large numbers of repossessions have not materialised and the employment national figures have not deteriorated to a degree where its impact on the wider economy is significant. With demand continuing to be low, prospective buyers are negotiating from a position of strength. Given the present market climate, there will opportunities for investors and buyers to profit.
